Prior to co-founding Digizyme, Jeannie trained as a violinist, composer, and teacher, receiving a B.A. in Music and English from Swarthmore College. Jeannie’s interest in communicating complex scientific concepts was sparked when she met Professor Stuart Schreiber and began working on scientific animations with him at the Institute for Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard.  She subsequently completed her software engineering studies at Harvard Extension School, where she received a Certificate in Applied Sciences with a focus on multimedia technologies.

Through the past 20 years of growing Digizyme, she has enjoyed working both on the front end visual design as well as the back-end implementation and management of mulltimedia developed for research laboratories, biotech and pharmaceutical companies, museums, and digital textbooks.  Jeannie was the lead designer for E.O Wilson’s ‘Life on Earth’ flagship iPad textbook created in collaboration with Apple.

She and Gaël live in Brookline with their two daughters, Clara and Fiona – whose names inspired “clarafi.”
